Classical Music and Cartoons Part 2Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 2pm PST

Listen in as Mary Alice Introduces this weekend's Classical Music in Cartoons

Classical Music and Cartoons.
The ultimate in complementary art forms.

I read that it is fashionable to  acknowledge the
influence of cartoon music. So I began to
consider how I cherish music and love cartoons
and quickly found myself on a wonderful journey that I
feel inspired to share with you.

There are a multitude of masterful classically infused
cartoon scores all punctuated with great gags, whacky
sound effects and the exquisite synchronization of music
with the micro movement of slapstick action.

Hundreds of millions of people the world over
first experienced classical music watching
ducks, cats and rabbits playing piano, swans
swimming down river and magic flutes floating
in air. We feasted our senses on a crew of crazy
animals prancing, dancing, running and fighting
to some of the most famous pieces of classical
music ever written.

I invite you to join me for a looney few hours of
Hungarian Dances, Overtures, Rhapsodies and Waltzes

Classical Music and Cartoons Part 2 this Weekend Sept 4th and 5th

Classical Music and Cartoons this Weekend February 27th and 28th

Countless people have written to me
telling me that, as children, they learned
Classical Music while watching cartoons.
I truly believe the brilliant combination was
no coincidence. Add laughter to the mix
and what we’ve got is mystically magical.

I’ll be mixing up the music this weekend to the tune of a
barber in the south of Spain being taunted by a rabbit in drag,
a viking hunting that very same rabbit who also shows up in
drag,(the girl gets around!), a crazy red-headed cowboy and
a rabbit chasing each other on horseback, followed by a wolf
and a few pigs doing a polka. Talk about laughter.
Well, Beep Beep to that.
Do you  really want to miss it?
