Welcome to The Poet’s Corner

Elin Babcock Forgiving Myself

Forgiveness is a concept
likely to have graced you
at some time in your life.

Whether you needed to forgive or were hoping to be forgiven
or…  most challenging…. wanted to forgive yourself.
What I call freeing myself from myself.
It is a potent gift of grace and love always and in all ways.

Forgiveness is certainly Divine, healing and a way of loving
as Elin Babcock tells us as she recites Forgiving Myself.

Elin Babcock Forgiving Myself

To error is human. To forgive, divine.  – Alexander Pope.

I can act divine
with you
It is healing – a way of loving
carrying, comforting
with you.
Forgiveness is easy
with you.

I know how sad
you feel
when you offend,
inconvenience,
hurt, forget.

Do not dwell on it
or replay, repeat
or rewind.
I am here for you.
All is forgiven.
Go on.

When it was my turn
you lifted me
from the valley
of un-forgiveness
by your kindness.
